Meeting and trading with other stamp collectors can be a great way to find out more about the fascinating hobby of stamp collecting as well as adding to your own collection. This can be very important if you have a world wide collection because you may be able to obtain stamps from other collectors from around the world that you might not have had access to otherwise. There are numerous ways you can meet and trade with stamp collectors from around the world without ever having to leave the comfort of your own home.

The Internet has made it increasingly easy for enthusiasts of all hobbies to get together and chat as well as trade and stamp collecting is no different. There are numerous forums, chat rooms and communities present online where you can get together with fellow stamp collectors and either discuss stamp collecting news or even exchange, trade or sell stamps. Collecting Memories Through Stamps

The benefit of collecting stamps is the ability to keep memories within them. For example if someone was to lose someone close to them; no longer with their constant companion, they are now left with the happy memories associated with their collection.  

Through stamp collecting, you can learn a lot about the history, culture, industries, animals and values of the countries that issued them at the time of printing. You may even pick up a few words in another language. A Chinese stamp featuring pandas shows someone that they live there and perhaps that they eat bamboo. Many countries issued stamps every time the Pope visited them, such as the one Canada issued in 2002 to commemorate his visit to Toronto for World Youth Day. One could share their memory with their child someday by showing them that stamp. There have been many events that have eventually been cast in the form of a stamp, and distributed world wide.
